I am Judie and I live in Columbia, South Carloina, but I'm originally from New York (thus my screen name YankeeLady). I have lived in the south for 27 years, but will always be a New Yorker at heart! I started embroidering about 4 years ago and I have a Baby Lock Esante. (but would love to up grade!!!!) I have a small home based business called "Grab Bags and You Name It" where I mostly do monogrammed purses, towels and blankets for gifts. Would love to expand the business, but no time for that with working, family (husband, 16 year old son, dog and 2 cats). Maybe when I retire in 3 years I can get a bigger machine and devote more time to the business. I am a member of several FQ swaps, embroidered quilt block swaps and local quilt making classes. I enjoy them all. I'm fairly new to quilting and I'm hooked on it. I like making small quilted projects, like wall hangings and mats, instead of the full sized bed quilts. I like working on all types of craft and sewing projects and scrapbooking. I do not make too many clothing items for myself as I can find things on sale less expensive than if I made them. I used to make almost all my clothes when I was "younger". Now I sew to relax and have fun!
