Thanks for visiting my page. I bought my first embroidery machine in 2005 and I was hooked. I love the combination of right and left brain thinking involved in creating a piece of art using technology. I’ve used Brother, Bernina, and Janome machines but my current favorite is a Babylock. I use Embird Studio, Generations and Pattern Maker to digitize my designs.
My digitizing philosophy is similar to the “Golden Rule” – if it’s something I don’t like, then I don’t “do it” to others. So I work hard to avoid unnecessary color changes, tiny jump stitches and stitching over jumps while maintaining the look of the original artwork.
I am still defining my embroidery style so you will see a variety of different types of designs as I try new things. I love early American style folk artwork, Jacobean embroidery, the look of hand embroidery and layers of color. I'm currently exploring techniques in fabric embellishment and needlefelting and thinking about how to incorporate machine embroidery.
